is excited to announce the participation of ROTOR F/X. This year, they
will be bringing a Full Sized Scale Helicopter for display and they
will have a full sized Helicopter Simulator for everyone to try!!! Here

ROTOR
F/X LLC of Van Nuys, California, provides all services and support for
experimental, ultralight, UAV and RC rotorcraft as well as professional
helicopter flight training for all classes of helicopter licenses and
ratings beginning with an introductory flight lesson at only $99. The
firm builds, assembles and tests all brands of ultralight and
experimental helicopters for both domestic and foreign customers and is
the distributor for the Mosquito single place personal helicopters and
also the high performance Aerocopter AK-1 two place helicopter from
Europe. Full MRO services are available for all models of helicopters
in these categories including completions, setup and flight testing.
ROTOR
F/X is also heavily involved in the design and development of several
UAV projects and is a build-setup service center for all RC aircraft.
The company carries a variety of premium product lines from suppliers
such as Protos helicopters and Eagletree Systems telemetry equipment
but provides maintenance-repair-overhaul for all brands. RC flight
instruction is available for both fixed wing and helicopters with
rental aircraft available for students. Our UAV group designs, develops
and tests airframes, avionics, auto pilots, video and telemetry systems
many of which are applicable to both UAV users and RC enthusiasts. The
company is actively involved and sought out for beta testing and
development of numerous systems and components. Our UAV services
include aerial filmography, surveillance, mapping, agricultural
surveying and law enforcement and search/rescue support.
Other
support services include full capability for CAD, CNC machining and
routing, foam cutting and milling, painting and professional
fabrication in metals and composites.
Our model shop produces highly detailed helicopter replicas for museums, private clients and film and video productions.
Helicopter
and fixed wing flight simulator systems for gamers and flight training
are manufactured and helicopter flight simulators are available for

"Air 5" landing at the LA3D!
LA3D is proud to announce the participation of the LA County Sheriff
Department's Air Rescue 5 team featuring their awesome Sikorsky SH-3D Sea King!
In the spirit of Los Angeles
helicopter enthusiasts, we find this to be a very fitting feature of the LA3D
event. We hope RC and full size helicopter enthusiasts alike will come and
witness the experience of this awesome ship!
Landing Schedule
Initial reports state that Air 5 will be scheduled to land
approx 8am on the Saturday
of the show (October 10, 2009) at show center (main runway). Upon landing the ships
crew will receive spectators and may offer a tour of this spectacular
machine. This will only be a 30-45 minute stop
for the Air 5 crew so don't miss out and come early!
Event Participation is secondary to the business of saving lives and
responding to emergency situations. LA3D and it's spectators respect the
schedules and emergency response system that the LA County Sherriff's Air
Rescue 5 program upholds.
It is with these facts that LA3D advises all spectators that Air 5 may not
be able to participate due to these situations. LA3D staff however, has
received confirmation that Air 5 will attend the event pending no emergency
situations arise. In the event that an emergency situation arises during Air
5's presence after landing, please respect the Sherriff's responsibility to
immediately depart by clearing the runway for it's take-off/departure.
Spectators will be advised to keep the runway clear for the landing and
take-off. LA3D staff will be present to control spectator interference with Air
5's take-off and landing procedures. Spectators must abide to Air
5 crews demand on limitations of what can and cannot be handled at the
time that the helicopter is on the ground and is giving tours.
Engine(s): 2 x General Electric T58-GE-10
turboshaft engines developing 1,400shp each and driving a five-blade main
rotor and five-blade tail rotor.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Air Rescue 5
Program of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Long Beach, California,
is the recipient of Helicopter Association International's (HAl) 2004 Igor I.
Sikorsky Award for Humanitarian Service. This award will be presented February
7, 2005, at HELI-EXPO in Anaheim,
California, during HAI's 44th
annual "Salute to Excellence" awards ceremony.
